Dr. Stefan Kraan, PhD’s fascination with seaweed & his collaboration in formulating the FarmaSea® Proprietary Blend of Sea Plants.

Dr. Kraan graduated with a M.Sc. degree in Marine Biology at National University of Groningen, The Netherlands, his home country. He moved to Ireland and became manager of the Irish Seaweed Industry Organisation in 1998. In 2001, he earned his PhD in phylogenetics and aquaculture of edible seaweeds from the National University of Ireland – Galway and additionally established the Irish Seaweed Centre, dedicated to seaweed-based research and development. In 2003, Dr. Kraan collaborated in the formulation of the FarmaSea® Proprietary Blend found in all the Sea Veg® multi-generational family of supplements, and since 2009 has pursued other commercial endeavors.
